Marvel Rivals #
1. General #
1.1 Recipients #
These regulations apply to all players participating in the SwitzerLAN Marvel Rivals tournament (“MR” or “Game”), but also to their organization and team, including their coaches, managers, owners, members and employees.
All of these individuals are referred to as “participants”.
By taking part in this tournament, each participant guarantees that they have read the content of these regulations and undertakes to respect them in their entirety.
Participants accept that their matches may be broadcast, commented on or projected on stage.
Cross-play is not allowed.
2. Tournament Information #
2.1 Tournament Management Platform #
The official tournament management platform will be Battlefy.
Make sure that each member of your team has an account on the platform.
2.2 Tournament Cash Prize #
| Placement | Prize |
|---|---|
| 1st | CHF 1,200 |
| 2nd | CHF 720 |
| 3rd | CHF 432 |
Cash prizes can vary depending on the number of players.
2.3 Tournament Format [TBD] #
The tournament is played in 2 stages.
Stage 1: Swiss Stage #
- 6 rounds of Swiss in BO3 format.
- The first 4 teams qualify for Stage 2.
- The seeding of the groups will be random for the first round.
- Subsequent rounds will be seeded based on team performance.
- In the event of a tie in Round 2 (i.e., 1–1), a Domination map must be played as the third map.
Stage 2: Double Elimination #
The second stage consists of a double-elimination bracket played in BO3 format.
There are two brackets:
- Winner Bracket
- Loser Bracket
When a team loses a BO, it moves to the Loser Bracket while retaining the possibility of reaching the Grand Final against the Winner Bracket champion.
If a team suffers a second defeat in the Loser Bracket, it is eliminated from the tournament.
The seeding of the tournament bracket will be determined according to the results of the previous Swiss stage.
Grand Final #
Unlike other matches, the Grand Final will be played in BO5 format.
It will feature the winners of the Winner Bracket and the Loser Bracket.
The team coming from the Winner Bracket will have a one-map advantage because it has not suffered a previous defeat.
2.4 Tiebreaker #
All matches preceding the Grand Final will be played in BO3 format.
There is no imposed map selection, except in the event of a tie in scores (i.e., 1–1). The last map played must be a Domination map to avoid another tie and potential delays.
2.5 Notes #
- All matches preceding the Grand Final will be played in BO3 format.
- There is no imposed map selection. However, in the event of a tie in scores (i.e., 1–1), the last map played must be a KOTH map to avoid another tie and potential delays.
- If a match is drawn, the score will be 0 everywhere rather than 1. No points will be awarded, and teams must continue playing until one team wins:
- 2 sets in a BO3.
- 3 sets in a BO5.
Note: The regulations currently contain conflicting information regarding the final map type in a tied match: Domination vs. KOTH. This must be clarified before the tournament.
3. Roster #
A roster consists of a maximum of 8 players:
- 6 starting players.
- 2 substitutes.
Changes between a starting player and a substitute can only be made between maps.
3.1 Substitutes #
Each team can have up to 2 substitutes.
Substitutions can only take place after each map and not during an ongoing map.
4. Tournament Schedule #
The first meeting for the team captain or manager (or a player if the team has neither) will be a briefing on Friday evening at 19:00.
The tournament itself will start one hour later, at 20:00.
All players must be present at the tournament venue at the start of the tournament.
Depending on the number of participants, the schedule may be subject to change.
The detailed schedule, including round start times, breaks and tournament end time, will be published shortly after registration closes.
5. Game Settings #
5.1 Match Settings #
- The lowest-ranked team is responsible for hosting the lobby.
- Spectators are only permitted with mutual agreement from both teams.

Aim assist is not allowed. It must be completely disabled.
6. Communication #
6.1 General Communication #
All tournament communication will take place on Discord:
6.2 In-Game Communication #
Communication between players and teams for each individual match will take place via Battlefy and/or Discord.
At least the team captains must have an account on both platforms and be reachable at all times.
The team captain is responsible for:
- Following messages addressed to all teams on Battlefy and Discord.
- Contacting the opposing team’s captain.
- Organizing the map Pick & Ban.
- Creating the lobby.
- Starting the relevant match.
6.3 Problems During a Match #
If a player encounters a problem, the team captain must go to the admin area and speak with the tournament manager, Slayz.
If the situation is minor, the captain may contact her directly via Discord.
In the event of:
- An altercation with the opposing team.
- Suspicion of cheating.
- Any other issue involving both teams.
Both captains, and only the captains, will be asked to go to the admin stand to discuss the situation in more detail.
It is recommended that teams take screenshots of the following whenever relevant:
- Match victories.
- In-game chat.
- Other relevant evidence.
These screenshots may be used as evidence when resolving disputes.
6.4 Disagreement with an Admin Decision #
If a player or team disagrees with a decision made by an administrator, the team captain or manager (or the player if the team has neither) may request a review of the issue and decision by the Arbitration Panel.
7. Progress of Matches #
7.1 Before the Match #
7.1.1 Hero Bans #
Hero bans must be configured using the in-game Tournament (Advanced) ban settings.
Each team will be able to ban and save heroes.
All heroes and maps are allowed.
7.1.2 Match Time #
Players must regularly check the published schedule for any adjustments or modifications.
Teams are responsible for ensuring that the tournament does not experience unnecessary delays.
7.1.3 Confirmation of Attendance #
The team captain or player must confirm their presence on Battlefy and/or Discord no later than 15 minutes after the scheduled start of the round.
This confirmation is required to contact the opposing captain and organize the match.
If the deadline is missed:
- The opposing team captain must report the issue to the administrators.
- A penalty will be imposed on the missing team.
- The penalty consists of a defeat in the current BO.
If the team concerned is still unreachable after 10 minutes, the opposing team will be awarded a total victory for the entire BO3.
7.1.4 Delayed Match Start #
In the event of unintentional technical difficulties or a lack of communication that prevents a match from starting more than 10 minutes after the scheduled round start:
- The team that is ready will be awarded the first map.
- The ready team will receive the opportunity to choose the next map.
After 15 minutes, the team that is ready will win the match.
An administrator must be notified in both situations through Battlefy or directly via Discord.
This rule does not apply if the delay is caused by a longer ongoing match from the previous round.
7.2 During the Match #
7.2.1 Map Selection #
The first map is always a Domination map, selected randomly by the tournament room, including the map and starting side.
All subsequent maps will be chosen by the losing team according to the map order defined below.
The opposing team chooses which side to start on.
7.2.2 Map Order #
Regular Matches:
- Domination
- Convoy or Convergence
- Convoy or Convergence
Grand Final:
- Domination
- Convoy
- Convergence
- Domination
The loser picks the first map.
Note: The Grand Final is played in BO5 format. The map order should be reviewed to ensure that it includes five maps or clearly defines the fifth map.
7.2.3 Match Breaks #
Any unjustified pauses will be punished with a lost map.
Examples of unjustified pauses include:
- Not providing a reason for the pause.
- Pausing for an invalid or unreasonable reason.
- Taking additional breaks after the permitted break period.
A maximum break of 10 minutes is allowed between each part of a match.
After 10 minutes, the same rules as those for late teams will apply.
7.2.4 Disconnection, Lag and Bugs #
In the event of a disconnection, lag or major bug, the match may be paused for a maximum of 15 minutes.
If the issue persists, the game administrators must be informed as soon as possible.
It is not permitted to substitute a player during an ongoing map.
The map must be completed with the affected team playing 5v6 before a substitution can be made.
7.2.5 Technical or Medical Emergency #
In the event of a technical or medical emergency:
- The match must be interrupted.
- The match administrators must be informed immediately.
- The administrators will decide whether the match can continue.
If an agreement is reached between the two teams but is not communicated to the administrators, it will be considered null and void for all future decisions.
8. After the Match #
8.1 Reporting the Result #
Both team captains are responsible for entering the match result within 5 minutes of the end of the match.
In the event of a problem or error:
- Contact an administrator.
- Provide a screenshot as evidence.
The score for each map must be submitted.
If the result is not submitted within the required time, the administrator will award a random win.
